North Shore Jazz Series

Each summer we present North Shore Jazz as part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival in venues throughout the North Shore. The yearly line-up features an eclectic mix of stellar artists at venues including The BlueShore at Cap, Presentation House Theatre and the Kay Meek Centre plus free concerts at the Civic Plaza, Lynn Valley Village and the West Vancouver Memorial Library.

Cap Jazz Series

An annual series featuring world-renowned jazz artists that represent both traditional and contemporary styles. A growing number of performances have showcased jazz from different cultures such as Latin and African. A highlight of the series is performances pairing a guest artist with our premier Jazz Studies student ensembles - “A” Band and NiteCap.

Cap Global Roots Series

This popular series features the best in acoustic music from near and far. Like our global world, we believe music should have no boundaries and indeed it is our aim to have the diversity in our communities reflected on our stage. Enjoy a musical journey around the world with our global roots shows.

Cap Theatre Series

A six- to seven-play season featuring Exit 22 productions and Arts Club Theatre presentations. Past performances have included Cinderella, Arabian Nights, Hello, Dolly! and The Hobbit.

Cap Choral/Classical Series

A combined program of instrumental and choral concerts performed by the Capilano University Wind Ensemble, Capilano University Festival Chorus, Cecilia Ensemble Women’s Choir and Capilano University Singers. A free and popular Friday recital series features faculty, alumni and guest artists.

Special Events

Family fare, speaker series, comedy and annual traditional shows such as Winter Harp have been featured in this series.

On September 27 & 28th, cultural commentator and humorist Fran Lebowitz kicks off the new Cap U speaker series, re-launching as part of the university’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.
