The Career Development Centre is here to support all programs and prepare their students for employment. Assistance is available for:
- Job Search Strategies
- Resume & Cover Letter Writing
- Interview Skills
- Social Media Profile Development (i.e. LinkedIn)
- Posting employment opportunities to the Capilano University online job board
Lunchtime workshops which are open to all Capilano University students and alumni are scheduled throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. The schedule for the current semester can be found on the Career Development Workshops & Events page.
If your course/program would benefit from a class-based workshop, the Career Development Centre is happy to arrange this with you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to set this up. The workshop content can be customized to your specific student group.
Don't Cancel That Class!
Cancelling a class may be unavoidable for a variety of reasons. If you know you're going to be away for one of your classes and can't find another faculty member to fill in, the "Don't Cancel That Class" program provides you with another option.
To make your students aware of the services available from the Career Development Centre, we are available to give a short 5-10 minute introduction to your class. Please email email@example.com to schedule this.
An up-to-date resume, cover letter, interview and networking guides are available on the Student Resources page. These can be downloaded in PDF format (no hard copies are available).
The Capilano University online job board has full-time, part-time, summer and volunteer opportunities for all student groups. Please refer any employers who contact you wishing to post an employment opportunity to the Post a Job page of our website.
Moodle CDC Faculty Resource Page
We have developed a resource page on Moodle to help you learn more about the Career Development Centre (CDC) and how we can support you with integrating career development topics into your class and encouraging your students to connect with us. The Moodle site showcases what the CDC offers students in terms of career development workshops, events and our collaborative work with faculty members and other student services.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604.984.4965 for the enrollment key.
