The Teaching and Learning Centre supports and shares Capilano University’s commitment to student success by fostering excellence in undergraduate teaching and learning.  We honour this commitment by promoting teaching and learning as ongoing and collaborative processes of inquiry, experimentation and reflection.  Our programs and services are available to the entire university’s teaching community as well as anyone else involved in the instructional process at Capilano.

The Centre provides integrated support for teaching and learning in face-to-face, online and blended settings.  It also supports curriculum development and assessment as well as faculty professional development and scholarly/creative activity.  It encourages and supports faculty to think critically and collaboratively about their teaching through scholarship, dissemination and review.  The Centre provides forums for faculty to share new ideas and approaches to teaching, supports efforts to incorporate technology into course designs, and consults with faculty as they refine new educational approaches and design methods to assess student learning outcomes.

Ultimately, the Centre’s goal is to foster a robust and vibrant community of scholar-educators recognized by students, the community, the province and the nation for excellence in undergraduate teaching and learning.
