Library Cards
Cards are issued at the Library Check Out counter. Borrower categories include the following:
- Community Borrowers: To receive a library card, two pieces of valid identification are required (one piece a photo ID and one with a current address). Fees are $25/year plus $2 for the card (this also serves as a copy card). Cards are valid for 1 year.
- Continuing Education students: CE students can borrow books and use library electronic resources after receiving a library card. The cost is $2 and a copy of the current Continuing Education registration form, plus proof of payment for the course, is required. For some long-term programs (more than one term), full student privileges may be granted.
- Eldercollege students: To receive a library card, an Eldercollege Membership card or Eldercollege Group Facilitator's card is required, along with two pieces of valid identification (one piece a photo ID and one with a current address). There are no fees but you must purchase a $2 library card (this also serves as a copy card). Cards are valid until the last day of program enrollment.
- Reciprocal Borrowers: To receive a library card, you must be a student at a BC university or college included in the BC Post-Secondary Reciprocal Borrowing Initiative and provide proof of current registration status, along with two pieces of valid identification (one piece a photo ID and one with a current address). There are no fees but you must purchase a $2 library card (this also serves as a copy card). Cards are valid until the end of the Capilano University spring semester.
