Advising

You are more than welcome to stop by the Centre for International Experience for advising. We have three Admissions and Academic Advising Officers dedicated to speaking with you as an international student about choosing courses, transfer credit, study and work permits, and the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).  They can be contacted via email at inted@capilanou.ca or you can sign up for drop-in appointments at Birch 339.

Karen Peardon, the International Student Counsellor is also available to meet with you if you wish to discuss non-academic questions or concerns. . She can be contacted through the counselling department at 604.984.1744.

Study Permits and Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

If you want to extend your stay in Canada as a student, you must renew your Study Permit by applying online through the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.

    Your study permit gives you legal status to remain in Canada. The Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is a document that allows you to enter Canada. It does not matter if your Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) expires while you are residing in Canada. As long as your Study Permit remains valid, you can legally stay in Canada and study.

    Accommodation

    Should you have questions regarding rental laws in British Columbia, we have tenant handbooks available at the Centre for International Experience located in Birch 339. Please contact the ISC at inted@capilanou.ca.
