Fee Deferral Summer 2012

What is a Fee Deferral?

A fee deferral is a date extension to pay fees owing to Capilano University in the term for which the fee deferral is granted.  If granted, a fee deferral has an expiry date.  The fee deferral process takes place each term.  Students on an approved fee deferral for a given term must re-apply for any additional terms.

Fee Deferral Application Instructions:  Now Open - Deadline to Apply is June 22nd

The fee deferral application is available at the end of this page. Completed applications are submitted to Financial Aid and Awards (submission instructions on application).  If a fee deferral is approved and activated on your student account check through "myCap" >Student Services>Student Records>View Holds.  The summer term fee deferral through Financial Aid and Awards expires June 28th on the student account.  On June 29th,  students that still have outstanding fees on their student account at the university will be subject to a $50 late fee penalty and an accounts receivable hold.  For more information about late fees and holds visit Financial Services

How do I know if my application has been approved?

Due to a high volume of applications received, Financial Aid and Awards cannot confirm receipt of a fee deferral application or provide status updates on fee deferral applications.  Applicants can self-check under "myCap" ('click' Student Services>'click' Student Records>'click' View Holds).  All applications received by June 22nd will be reviewed and students approved for a fee deferral will have their fee deferral applied.  A reminder that a spring term fee deferral expires automatcially on June 28, 2012.
