Based on approved recommendations presented in the IT Operations report delivered in October 2010, Capilano University is migrating from the Novell computer architecture to Microsoft.
The compelling reasons for the migration are:
- Cost of duplicated technologies and support
- The sale of Novell's intellectual property to Microsoft
- The continuing trend of the education sector utilizing Microsoft technologies and integration capabilities
IT Services is undertaking a major project from which everybody will benefit.
The project is broken down in two steps or phases. These are listed below along with the associated timing.
