Capilano University encourages students to get involved in the various recreational activities on campus.  The Department of Athletics and Recreation emphasizes sport and fitness activities as a vital component of an enriched and balanced educational experience.

Get involved and join the fun

The Department of Athletics, and Recreation offers a wide variety of recreational activity programs which will appeal to most students. For more information contact the Sportsplex Control desk, Monday to Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in person or call 984-1737.

There are a variety of activities for students to participate in. 

The following activities are provided free or at a nominal charge to Capilano University Students, Faculty and Staff with the presentation of valid identification.

Club activities take place in the Multi Purpose Room of the Sportsplex.  For gymnasium activities, please have your student I.D. card available if you wish to borrow equipment from the Sportsplex Control Desk.

The Sportsplex features:

  • Gym - 8 badminton courts,
  • 3 volleyball courts,
  • 2 indoor soccer courts with goals,
  • 2 basketball courts with 10 glass backboards and hoops.
  • Fitness Centre with weight room - Universal Gym, stationary bikes, rowing ergometer, stairclimbers, Olympic and fixed free weights
  • Multi Purpose Room - martial arts, aerobics, dance and yoga
  • Sporting Equipment - badminton rackets and shuttlecocks, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, bibs (indoor and outdoor)
  • cones and towels may be supplied upon presentation of proper i.d.
