Career Opportunities
British Columbia is experiencing a skills shortage in tourism related occupations. Successfully securing a professional career in the Tourism Industry requires a blend of work experience and formal education. The Tourism Management Co-op diploma program offers both. As a result, graduates are able to pursue a range of different tourism related careers. Based on your career interests and previous work experience, you may find opportunities to work in event planning, in a hotel, for a tour company, a destination marketing organization, as a consultant in tourism policy and planning, or as a guide in adventure tourism.
Recent graduates have gained jobs as:
- Sales manager, for a destination marketing organization
- Managing director, inbound tour company
- Airline attendant, major international carrier
- Frontline staff, cruise ship
- Manager, sales and marketing, receptive tour company
- Manager, food & beverage at a International 5 Star Hotel
- Manager, sales and operations, for a tour operator
