Getting Started

 6 Steps to Studying Abroad

1. Make sure you’re eligible to go

  • have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at time of application
  • be enrolled as a full time student (9 credits) at Capilano University at time of application
  • completed a minimum of 60 credits prior to departure

2. Talk to your Academic Advisor about your degree requirements. Make sure you know which courses you still need to take to graduate. This will help you determine which courses you should take abroad.

* please contact your  Academic Advisor directly by e-mail or book an appointment to meet with them between January 20th (add/drop deadline) and February 2nd. To book an appointment, call 604.984.4900; option 3 for admissions.

3. Research partner universities using the Partner Institution Page and check out the partner university’s course catalogue.

4. Connect with our Ambassadors for Study Abroad. They can be a great resource, and they're usually very eager to give advice and share their experiences.

  • Read our Ambassador reports (located in the Study Abroad Office - CE335)
  • Check out our Ambassador Profiles
  • Attend an event
  • Email our Ambassadors for Study Abroad

5. Stop by the Study Abroad Office during drop in hours (Mon-Fri from 11:00-1:00) or attend an Ambassadors Speaker Series to address any additional questions.

6. Submit an application with your top three choices.
