A Nova Scotia's Lieutenant Governor, Myra A. Freeman, presented a gift crafted by Lorraine Seibold to the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace. A recent graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), Seibold began her fine-art studies at Capilano College in North Vancouver, where she studied for two years before transferring to NSCAD.

Former graduate Mira Burke was awarded the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Scholarship to cover her tuition/room/board at Yale.

Sawan Yanghwe and Dougal Graham, students in the early
90's, have gone to a successful collaborative painting career,
exhibiting all across North America. They work primarily from their studios in Italy.

Judson Beaumont
is the founder/owner of "Straightline Design",
a wood fabrication company making sculptural furniture and a
broad range of sculptural constructions.

Tina Cullen is exhibiting at Jennifer Kostiuk, a contemporary art
gallery in Vancouver.

Davida Pan
, recently back from an art co-op in 100 Mile House,
continues to create his exotic metal sculptures seen around
Vancouver at places like "Benny's".

Mike Batty shows his paintings at the Douglas Udell Gallery in
B.C. and Alberta, and runs a successful framing business.

Stephen Lin
recently completed a commission for a new
ceramic museum in Taiwan.

Kelly Phillips, a former Art Institute member, is now an art
educator at Kwantlan College and a visual artist who exhibits
throughout Canada and the United States.

David Morgan is teaching a sculpture techniques course at
ECIAD.

Biliana Kelkova, after studying in Montreal, and abroad, is
presently developing video and performance work in the Lower
Mainland. She is also a curator for the Seymour Art Gallery in
Deep Cove.

Denise Carson Wilde
is co-owner and director of "Paper-Ya" on
Granville Island. She has exhibited her drawings, prints and
paintings both locally and nationally.

Jasyn Lucas
is teaching Graphic Arts to students in Grades
8, 9 and 10 at R.D. Parker Collegiate in Thompson, Manitoba.

Ashley Vincent, after leaving Capilano College, went on to Emily Carr to earn her degree in Industrial Design.  She is currently a bag designer at Nike.  Ashley is still exhibiting her art, and has recently had a show at the Virtuoso Gallery in Portland, Oregon.  She often travels to Asia for work and has incorporated that experience into her art.  Please visit www.thevirtuosostudios.com to view her current work.

Irwin Oostindie is a graduate of the Art Institute program in Media Art, and is currently the director of Gallery Gachet in Vancouver.
