The Residential Building Maintenance Worker (RBMW) certificate program provides a unique opportunity to self-motivated individuals who enjoy various aspects of the trades and have a passion for problem solving.

Certified residential building maintenance workers are key personnel in the smooth running of well managed residential enterprise as they maintain and repair residential buildings (single family unit, multi-unit and high rises).

Become a trouble shooter for most building maintenance problems.  The RBMW program provides trades training including carpentry, flooring repair, roofing repair, electrical inspection and maintenance, drywall finishing and much more.

Career Opportunities

Residential building maintenance workers have opportunities to work in the repair and maintenance of residential and commercial buildings such as homes, apartments, schools, band and government buildings, seniors and social housing, resorts, bed and breakfasts (B&B's) and more.  This includes minor carpentry, drywall, electrical floor-laying, painting, plumbing, refrigeration mechanics, roofing repairs, maintenance, installation, inspection and testing (as per BC Safety Authority legislation and regulations).
