Capilano University has several scholarships and bursaries available to music students in the Diploma in Music Program:
Canadian Daughter's League – Jean Paterson Memorial Bursary
Spring and Fall
The Canadian Daughters' League, Assembly 12, has established a permanent endowment in memory of Jean Paterson that provides annual bursaries to female students in the Music Diploma Program at Capilano University.
Capilano Program Awards (CAPP)
This award is in the form of a tuition fee waiver for up to $1500 and is given to a student demonstrating excellence in their performance audition.
Christopher Gray Johnson Memorial Bursary
Spring and Fall
The family of Christopher Gray Johnson has established a fund with the Capilano University Foundation in his memory to provide bursary funding to deserving students who demonstrate a high standard of musical ability in the Music Diploma Program.
Frank and Muriel Griffiths Memorial Bursary
Spring
The family of Frank and Muriel Griffiths have established a permanent fund for the purpose of providing one or more bursaries for deserving students of the Music Diploma Program who show good performance potential and academic achievement.
Gary Le Tourneau Scholarship
Spring and/or Fall
The Music Diploma Program established a scholarship in memory of Gary Le Tourneau, a student who graduated from Capilano University's University Transfer Program in 1979. This scholarship is to be awarded to a full-time second year student enrolled in the Music Diploma Program with excellence in their performance speciality.
Joyce Gee Scholarship
Spring
The Music Department established a permanent fund to honour Joyce Gee, a retired faculty member from the Music Department at Capilano University. This fund will provide one or more scholarships for students enrolled in a music program at Capilano University.
Kawai Canada Music Ltd. Piano Scholarship
Spring
Kawai Canada has established a permanent scholarship to assist students enrolled in the study of piano at Capilano University.
Lana (Lockyer) Robinson Award
Spring
The co-workers and friends of Lana (Lockyer) Robinson have established a permanent fund to recognize her contribution to the Capilano University Foundation. This fund will be used to provide awards to students enrolled in the Music Diploma Program at Capilano University.
Nan McLean Goodwin Award
Spring
Nan McLean Goodwin was a voice and piano teacher for many years in Vancouver. As a young woman, she was instrumental in producing several amateur opera productions in Vancouver at a time when Vancouver did not have a resident opera company. With her assistance, many of her students became professional musicians. This award recognizes classical musicians in the Music Diploma Program at Capilano University.
Norma Porter and George M.C. Whyte Memorial Award
Spring
The North Shore Community Concerts Association established the Norma Porter and George M.C. Whyte Memorial Award Endowment Fund to assist students enrolled full-time in the Music Diploma Program.
