Math Awards

First Year Science Calculus Award

The Mathematics and Statistics Department will provide an annual award of $600 to a student who has achieved a high scholastic standing in both Math 116 and Math 126.

Criteria:

1) Students must have completed Math 116 and Math 126. Math 126 must have been completed in one of the three semesters (summer, fall or spring) prior to the Spring Awards Ceremony.

2) A minimum GPA of 3.50 based upon Math 116 and Math 126

Application: Not required

 

First Year Business Calculus Award

The Mathematics and Statistics Department will provide an annual award of $600 to a student who has achieved a high scholastic standing in both Math 108 and Math 109.

Criteria:

1) Students must have completed Math 108 and Math 109. Math 109 must have been completed in one of the three semesters (summer, fall or spring) prior to the Spring Awards Ceremony.

2) A minimum GPA of 3.50 based upon Math 108 and Math 109

Application: Not required

 

Second Year Math Award

The Mathematics and Statistics Department will provide an annual award of $600 to a student who has achieved a high scholastic standing in second year math courses.

Criteria:

1) Students must have completed at least 6 second year math credits

2) A minimum GPA of 3.50 based upon 6 second year math credits.

Application: Not required

 

Putnam Award

The Mathematics and Statistics Department will provide an annual award of $200 to a Capilano University student for distiguished performance on the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.
