MARIA CHUR
Maria Chur graduated from the Tourism Management for International Students Diploma in 2008. Since then, she has completed a 3-month internship at the Trade and Convention Center in Münster, Germany. She started a bachelor degree in Leisure and Tourism Management at European University in Barcelona Spain in August 2008. When she graduates in June 2009, she plans to pursue graduate studies in Germany by applying to a master’s program in Sustainable Tourism Planning.
The Tourism Department at Capilano University is a very special one. A welcoming, family-like class atmosphere helped me throughout the program to encourage my own enthusiasm and pleasure of learning. Honest support from the whole faculty has helped me to develop my professional skills and build-up self-confidence to try and reach out to new and unknown territories.
The TMI program has encouraged me to continue my education and has familiarized me with my areas of interest within the tourism industry, through practical work experience and personal exchange of information and ideas with industry professionals. The cross-cultural interaction between students within the TMI program has widened and enriched my mind, while I was able to make friendships that I am certain may last for a lifetime.
