Ian CRESSWELL, BA (Hons) (W. London), MA (UBC), Dip. (LSE), MLit. (Oxford)

 
After several years spent collecting post-graduate degrees in English Literature, International Relations and Political Philosophy, Ian stumbled into the law and practised for a number of years as a commercial litigator for a large firm in London, England. Appalled at the prospect of making submissions for the rest of his life to gout-ridden, wormy old men, Ian returned to academia (where, of course, judgement is only a possibility).

Teaching experience:
As a Teaching Assistant at UBC for two years 1988-1990, and since 2005, at Capilano, teaching a range of first and second year courses.

Interests:
Ian has a particular interest in Classical and Renaissance drama, as well as modern Russian and East European fiction.

As a student (particularly at UBC), Ian did a lot of acting. He produced and directed West Side Story at Norwich City College in 1983 and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the West London Institute in 1985. Ian tries to maintain this interest, and he also plays the piano.
