How to Apply
These instructions on How to Apply are for the Degree and Diploma only. Please see the Post Baccalaureate Diploma page if you are interested in applying for it.
Applications are now being accepted for January and September 2012. Please indicate on your application which intake term you are applying to.
1. ECCE Program Admission Requirements
Applicants should review the admission requirements for their chosen stream: Diploma Stream or Degree Stream.
2. Apply to Capilano University
Applicants must apply to Capilano University by completing an on-line application and submitting required documentation including official, original high school and post secondary transcripts.
3. Information Session (for date/time click here)
It is recommended that all applicants who are new to the Capilano University ECCE Programs attend an Information Session.
4. Early Childhood Care & Education Application Submission
Applications will not be considered until the following documents are received by the ECCE Department.

three references (signed copies of letters; two professional, one personal)

Diploma Applicants: a letter outlining career goals

Degree Applicants: Letter of Interest/Intent (max. 500 words) See Degree Admission Requirements for Guidelines

A copy of any valid BC ECCE Licences (if applicable)
Please note: Transcripts must be submitted to the university Registrar's Office (see step 2 above) before an application can be considered.
5. Interview
First year applicants may be required to attend an interview following application submission. Details will be provided at Information Sessions.
Applicants to second and third year may also be required to attend an interview; if this is required, applicants will be contacted following application review.
6. Supplemental Documentation
Upon acceptance into the program, students will be required to supply supplemental documentation as detailed in the admission requirements for each stream: Diploma Stream or Degree Stream. Details will be provided at Information Sessions.
Please note: some items will be required before students can take courses required for program completion.
7. Scholarships and bursaries
Applicants are encouraged to apply for scholarships and bursaries.
Continuation in the Program
Continuation in each term of the programs is dependent upon the demonstration of satisfactory interpersonal, academic, and teaching/guiding skills. C- is the minimum acceptable grade in all courses within the Diploma and Certificates. 2.67 is the minimum GPA acceptable for continuation in the Degree.
