Program studies focus on the business, environmental, human resource, community and management aspects of a tourism destination.

DRM Mission

The Mission of the Destination Resort Management diploma is Learn, Participate, Share:

Learn: From the beginning to end you are here to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enhance your goals and enable you develop a meaningful career. It is expected that you will be responsible and accountable for your learning by utilizing the resources available to you through your instructors, staff, classmates and community.

Participate: We provide you with ample opportunity to participate in real-life assignments, field trips, meet industry professionals through guest speaker engagements and networking events. When you participate you deepen the skills and knowledge discussed and learned in the classroom. We also like to be involved in the community and participation through volunteering within the community is encouraged.

Share: Your co-op work term is only the beginning of how you can share your knowledge and skills. Upon graduation as you develop your career we want you to share your experience, continue to meet with your colleagues and give back to the program through co-op positions and opportunities for the next set of tourism professionals.


What is a Resort Community?

"Resort Community”- either incorporated or unincorporated- that has developed around tourism accommodation facilities and recreational activities and has an economy that is heavily dependent on tourism spending
