How to Apply

To become a student in the College & University Preparation (CUP) program, complete the following three steps:

1.   Apply to Capilano UniversityClick here for the online application form. You should submit your application form as soon as you can.  It usually takes a number of weeks for applications to be processed by the Registrar's office.  Your application gives you a student number, which will be used when you register, when you apply for a library card to take textbooks out of the library, for issuing your bus pass, and so that you can access computers on campus.

2.   Arrange an interview and assessment
.  The assessment is approximately 45 minutes long, and consists of a short English and Math test.  The test doesn't count for marks, and is only used as a way of placing you in the correct level for your classes.  Allow up to another 45 minutes to ask questions during the interview with one of the instructors (so allow 1.5 hours in total).

As the CUP program is full-time and comprises 4 courses in preparation for university studies, potential students are expected to contact the department directly to make arrangements for their interview and assessment.  Students that require an advocate to make program inquiries on their behalf are encouraged to apply to the ABE department and take a smaller course load for their first semester to prepare for entry into the CUP program.

Priority for registration in both the CUP and ABE programs is assigned as of the student's interview and assessment date

Limited space is still available for classes beginning September 7, 2010.
The next interview and assessment date is Wednesday September 1 at 10:00 a.m.
Please contact the Coordinator, Sylvie Trudel at (604) 986-1911 local 3021 or strudel@capilanou.ca to reserve a place at this interview and assessment session.

3.   Register for classes
.  Your registration date will be arranged during your interview and assessment.

If you have any questions about the CUP program please contact one of the instructors by phone or email.
