Capilano University has four unique, full time animation programs designed to help you acheive your career goals.  If you are just starting out and want to develop your skills and portfolio, check out our 2-month summer programs.  If you've already decided on a career path then focus on commercial (2d) or digital (3d) animation.

Summer Programs (July and August)

Animation Fundamentals 8-Week Intensive

Are you looking to improve your drawing, design and computer skills for entry into the Commercial Animation or Digital Animation programs? Check out our summer training program which runs during July and August each year.

Computer Animation & Visual Effects - 8-Week Intensive

This eight-week summer program will pique your interest if you've ever considered a career in the entertainment industry. This summer intensive is ideal for individuals looking for a means to test the waters of the computer animation industry, or for individuals looking to upgrade their computer animation skills. This course will focus on producing visuals for the electronic game and television industries.

Fall Full Time Programs (September to April)

Commercial Animation - 2-Year Diploma

The Commercial Animation program is focused on developing drawing skills and studio procedures in the production of animated commercials, television series, and production of feature films.

Digital Animation - 8-Month Certificate

The Digital Animation program is an intensive training program that develops strong 3D computer animation skills for the animation industry. Students utilize state-of-the-art computer animation hardware and software to produce a professional portfolio and demo reel.
