Inclement Weather Procedures
Severe Weather Procedures
Winter weather conditions often create personal safety issues. Following weather forecasts and being prepared will reduce negative impacts. The links on the right of this page will provide you with some helpful information to make your commute safer. Below is information relating to possible campus closures.
Closure Due to Inclement Weather:
Unless a specific closure message appears on the University's homepage,
the assumption to be made is that the University is open.
Capilano University has a plan in place to ensure a timely and coordinated response to campus closures and the University's ability to offer services. The University will remain open during normal scheduled operations unless climatic conditions pose a hazard to public safety. We take into account weather and road conditions in determining if road hazards and public safety conditions should result in any closures. Please note that the University is open unless a closure notice appears on the homepage. In the event of a snow closure, please follow the procedures outlined below:
Employees
Employees are asked to refer to the Emergency University Closure Policy found on the right sidebar under See also for correct procedures during complete or partial University closures. The assumption to be made, for employees' purposes, is that the University is open unless closure information is posted on the University website.
