Environmental management at the GVRD

(NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C.)—Four speakers from the Greater Vancouver Regional District will share their approach to environmental management of waters around Vancouver at a free public seminar hosted by the Environmental Science department at Capilano College. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 21 in the Cedar building, room 148, at 7 p.m. The College is located at 2055 Purcell Way in North Vancouver.

Topics include: An overview of GVRD environmental monitoring and management programs (Dr. Albert van Roodselaar); The use of the Benthic index of biotic integrity in storm water management (Mr. Andrew Lewis); Receiving environment monitoring in the marine environment (Mr. Stan Bertold/Ms. Farida Bishay); and New tools for the 21st century for biological and molecular techniques (Mr. Paul van Poppelen). Those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions during a panel discussion.
