Credit Card Changes
In Fall 2010, Capilano University joined the growing number of post secondary institutions that no longer accept credit cards as a form of payment for domestic tuition. Credit card fees are a significant expense to the University. By reducing these costs, more resources will be available to fund the continued delivery of quality student education and services.
Students will continue to be able to pay tuition fees through online banking, Debit cards, cash, cheque, and wire transfer.
This change only affects domestic tuition and course-related registration fees. Application and other non-registration type fees may still be paid by credit card. Likewise, we will continue to accept credit card payments for Bookstore purchases and Continuing Education courses.

Online Banking
The most efficient means of paying student fees is through online banking from a Canadian bank account. Capilano University is registered with most of the major Canadian banks for this payment of bills service. When you select Capilano University as a payee, the bank will request an account number. Please quote your 9-digit Capilano University student ID number.
Important: Please allow 3 business days for your payment transaction to be reflected in your student account.
Travelex Bank to Bank Transfer
The most efficient payment process for an international student to pay their student fees is through a Travelex Bank to Bank Transfer. This option allows you to pay the Canadian dollar student fees in the currency of your choice.
International students can choose to make a payment to Capilano by selecting the Travelex Bank to Bank Transfer for International Students option on MyCap. If you choose to proceed, you will be transferred to a secure website where you will receive instructions on how to complete the payment to a local banking institution in your currency of choice.
- After providing your student name and number you will be directed to a web page where you will be able to enter in the Canadian dollar amount you wish to pay to Capilano.
- The amount being transferred to Capilano should only be for tuition, fees, and other charges to the student account, and should not include living expenses for the student.
- You will select your preferred payment currency from a drop-down menu. A conversion at a competitive rate of exchange from the Canadian dollar amount will be applied to your chosen currency through the Travelex real-time rate engine. You will have the opportunity to view the payable amount in your local currency before committing to the transaction. To proceed with the transaction simply click OK and you will be presented with the banking instructions to make the payment.
- The exchange rate quoted will remain valid for 72 hours from the time which will be indicated on the payment instruction you'll receive after clicking "submit" button. During this time you or the payer must take the banking instructions to your bank, which will initiate the transfer of funds through Travelex for credit to Capilano University. Travelex must receive your payment within 72 hours of your receipt of the applicable currency quote. In the event Travelex receives your payment after the 72 hour period, Travelex will use the current exchange rate to convert the currency. On receipt of the funds your student fee account will be credited. While the transfer is in progress, your account will continue to show the outstanding amount.
To proceed with a Travelex Bank to Bank Transfer, go to the Travelex payment page.
