Student Enrolment Statistics
Student Population
- Headcount totals more than 7,500 students in credit programs each term
- Approximately 700 international students enrol each term
- 34% are enrolled in arts & sciences programs; 56% in career/vocational programs; 10% in preparatory programs
- 72% are full-time; 28% part-time
- 59% are female; 41% are male
- 40% are residents of the North Shore; 26% are residents of Vancouver and Burnaby; the remaining 34% come from the rest of the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, Canada and around the world
- An additional 5,000 people take non-credit courses each year

Surveys of the new, credit students entering the University indicate:
- Most identified the quality of teaching and the availability of courses as the main reasons for choosing Capilano.
- 51% came directly from high school.
- 35% had attended another post-secondary institution (14% from a university).
Surveys of recent Capilano graduates show:
- 96% of career/vocational graduates who sought employment had a job within six months of graduation;
- 87% ranked the quality of teaching as good or very good.
