Board of Governors
The Capilano University Board of Governors, established in conformity with the University Act, consists of 15 members, including eight appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, five elected from the University community (two students, two faculty and one non-faculty member), the President and Vice-Chancellor of Capilano University, and the Chancellor.
The Board is responsible for the business affairs of the University, and in that capacity determines the policies by which the University operates and reviews the financial performance of the University and its component parts. Traditionally, the Board holds public meetings eight times each year to fulfil its statutory responsibilities and to conduct its general business. According to provisions outlined in the University Act, Capilano University Board members do not receive any remuneration for their services.
