Robert Campbell Born in Manitoba, but largely raised in California, Robert joined Capilano University (then-College) in 1978 as a History instructor. He became Dean of Arts and Sciences in August 2008. His entire career has been spent at Capilano, where he continues to be “fiercely proud of the people and the programs.” From 2000 to 2008, Robert served on Education Council and from 2006-2008 he was its Chair. He was Division Chair of Social Sciences from 1990 to 1994 and an executive member of the Faculty Association from 1987 to 1994. Robert has a PhD (History) from Simon Fraser University, a Master of History (University of British Columbia) and a Bachelor of Arts (University of California, Santa Cruz). As a historian, his research interests have been in the social history of alcohol. He is the author of two books and many articles on government liquor regulation in Canada. When not at work, Robert enjoys hiking, skiing, or kayaking, preferably with his wife, Janet.
